I am grateful for a wonderful night sleep last night.  I am grateful for a roof over my head.  I am grateful for all of the magnificent feats that my body does without me thinking about it, to keep me alive, thriving and at my best.  I am grateful for the little things.  Everything matters.

As I look upon this day, I am reminded of the importance of gratitude.  With all of the chaos going on in this world, it’s sometimes easy to get caught up in  the things going on around us.  Instead, I choose to live a gratitude filled life.

I write out at least 5 things I am grateful for every morning and every evening.  I have for years everyday.  Recently, a friend and author of  Is Anyone Else Feeling the Same Way, Cassy Huidobro, suggested adding one more thing to my gratitude list for the day . . . why!  Why I am grateful for this, that or the other.  It’s taken my gratitude practice to an even higher level!

I am grateful for a wonderful night sleep last night because I am rested and can be my absolute best today.  I am grateful for a roof over my head because I realize that I could be homeless.  I am grateful for all of the magnificent feats that my body does without me thinking about it, to keep me alive, thriving and at my best because without it I could not be fully present today, exploring, growing and contributing some ‘sunshine’ to someone else’s day.

Take nothing for granted!

What are you grateful for today and why?
