February has a special place in my heart. Not only is it the month I said goodbye to Momzi, it’s the month that my maternal grandmother and I were born. I now have other family members apart of the February family. It’s the universal Love month. It is also the month we celebrate so many who paved the way for a better life for a race of people that has been continually treated less than human – Black History Month. While it is the shortest month of the year, it is the most impactful in my life.
The second month of the year, is a continuation of a new beginning with a new year, new focus, new goals and new accomplishments. This is month that can springboard you into a new way of life, if you replace any bad habits with good ones. If you get definitive with your goals by writing them down and reviewing them regularly. Since it is a short month, it is also important to maximize everyday in February, or it will seem as the month never came. Savour every moment.
Fun things to do in February are skiing, snow boarding, hiking and other winter sports. Learning the importance of layering is key to staying warm during this time of year. This is also a time to spend more time with the family in the winter months indoors. Lots of family games are fun this time of year with relaxing by the fireplace with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Spending quality time with the family is key to making tons of memories!
A few of influential people born in February are Tony Robbins, Sidney Poitier, John C. Maxwell, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker and Rihanna. Enjoy the birthdays, valentine’s day and Black History Month this year. We only have 28 days to do so in February!
