Long before Beyoncé’s Lemonade album, the saying ‘when life gives you lemons, turn your lemons to lemonade’ was popular.  It has been my mantra in life!

Most recently, I reminded myself that I had just done just that.  I had a very important business trip planned.  However, I got ill with a horrible cold a few weeks prior.  I thought I would feel better long before the trip.  But that wasn’t happening.  I had resolved that I just was not going to be able to make it.  Then the day before I was to go, I felt a little better.  Now, I am the person who begins packing about three to four days before leaving – just to make sure I don’t forget anything.  I hadn’t packed.  So I began packing.  Just before completing, my nose began to bleed.  I got it stopped and went to bed. I didn’t think much about it since I don’t usually get nose bleeds.

Then at 3am, I was awakened because my nose began to bleed again.  I couldn’t get it to stop for hours.  I had to get rushed to the emergency room, thereby totally forfeiting my trip. I had purchased trip protection, but I would have needed to cancel 72 hours prior to the trip for that to be in effect.

The blessing, is that while I missed my trip totally, I am back to normal – healthy.   The best part of this story, is that the organization I was to be apart of had a Livestream of the event.  So, I relaxed and tuned in for the entire event for the weekend at home.

My lemonade?  I had a few glasses – gaining my health back and feeling like I missed absolutely nothing!  I was as close to being there – thanks to Lisa Nichols’ phenomenal team.  Lemonade quenches my thirst!

Remember to turn your lemons into lemonade!  Quench your thirst!
